Recalibrate Magnaride?

Hey everyone, i was doing some reading in the forums and it looks like a couple of people mentioned they had their cars magnaride recalibrated after some suspension work or lowering springs. Anyone hear of this before? And if so anyone have it done?

I have seen/read it as a 're-zero' the MRC ride height. The dealer has a process and you can DIY if you have a DSC Sport controller.

It's common on the SUV's that get lowered/lifted.

Thanks Matthew, I tried searching for that particular thread but couldn't find it, hopefully my dealership knows what i'm talking about when i take it in. I didn't see much in the way of how different if at all it felt after the recalibration in that thread tho.

When you go to the dealer you ask for a "trim height calibration" and takes a few minutes. Did it on my 2SS 1LE and was about $100 CAD, the guy behind the desk didn't know what I was talking about but the service manager did. I noticed a huge difference after lowering the car where it would bounce way more going over sudden bumps (like into the garage) and losing traction when going full throttle, the calibration fixed all of that.

I've read about it, but only people that for some reason have issues with their MRC after lowering.

We lowered our cars around the same time last year, same springs. Are you having issues?

any time you change height tires or springs and you want it how it was designed to be a recal is needed.

No issues on my end, just wanted to make sure I was getting full use out of the MRC with a recal if necessary to achieve that.

Please update when you do, I'd be curious any differences. I daily mine and put about 20k on my car over the past year, majority of that was lowered (9/25/21) and barely could tell any difference in ride, but like you if it can make better use of the MRC and find someone knowing what I'm talking about it'd be worth it.

No issues on mine either with EIbach Pro Springs. The EIbach's don't lower the car as much as some of the other aftermarket springs though so I doubt the MRC is out of tolerance.

I installed a set of YYZv2 springs about a 1000k.s ago. I have a pretty good feel for the car. DRC Controller is arriving next week. I'll zero the height via the controller and then put the OEM controller back in. I'll report on what I experience..... Or don't lol.

Actually, that probobly won't make any sense or be beneficial to you guys. I've got a feeling that the calibration will be kept locally on the controller, and not actually sent to the damper or other ECMs or BCMs. Putting the OEM controller back in will just return me to where I started I think? I'll try anyway. Standby....

The more I look at this thread and the more I think about it, the more I realize that I need mine recalibrated as well due to the traction light illuminating without reason and blinking for minutes at a time when I drive every once in a blue moon.

I'm sure others with actual knowledge will reply, but to me it sounds like a good idea. If anything zero it with the controller and leave plugged in and see if you can tell any difference before and after?

I kind of expect normal driving won't see any difference, but possibly on large bumps or sharp bumps like a not leveled expansion joint will feel a difference. Maybe even more so around corners. Again just a thought, zero experience with GM MRC
