Can I get one more track day on these?
Hey guys, could use your opinion here.
I have these original F1 SC3s still on the car. They have 4 track days on them since I bought the car used a year ago. Also 10,500 miles. Do you think I can get another track day out of them? I have a new set already, but wondering if I can get one more day before I witch to the new set. These are the fronts. Backs have slightly less thread, but shoulders are in better shape. I know if it's wet I might as well stay home. But should be OK for one more dry day? What do you guys think? |

Mine are just a touch further worn than yours. You'll be good, just keep watching for cords after each session.

Like others have said I like to see the cords to get my moneys worth, I do also trailer mine though so I don't need to worry about driving home.

My OE tires are in about the same shape at 8500 miles and they were not very good the last time I ran them on the track. Too many heat cycles. I figured if I lost control because I had old tires and hit something I didn’t really save any money. Not a tire to drive at 10/10th’s or try to set fast time with anyway.

Might want to keep them as track spares.

So I ended up doing another track day on those tires. They did pretty well. I would say they had 95% of the grip I was hoping for.
Now I'm done with them, but they gave me 6 - 20min sessions today, a new Personal Best at Mid Ohio (1:40.9), and a bunch of fun. I think I'm ready for the new set now :-) |

As long as its 100% dry your all good. Without any tread you could actually have more grip and the tires are a few lbs lighter so may be faster even. Depending on if the rubber compound is not too degraded from heat cycles.
