How hard to install borla exhaust myself?

I’m a fairly amateur mechanic. I just bought a borla atak exhaust for my 2021 ZL1 and was wondering the difficulty level of the install. Want to do it myself as I just bought a lift for my garage but I am concerned about screwing it up. For those who have done the install… can I do this myself? If so any recommendations with tools I might need to make it go easier? I have read that I’m going to need to tie back the AFM actuators. Any feedback or advice is much appreciated.

It’s super easy, especially with a lift. I did all of my exhaust work including cutting to tie in dual x-pipes and header install by myself in my garage on my lift. Tying back the actuators was also super easy. You can order caps online to plug the ends or you ca wrap them with plastic and tape.

saw zaw
spray lubricant (for the 15mm nuts and the rubber bushings on exhaust hangers)
15mm deep and ratchet head wrench would help

Yeah super easy, i did mine with a couple of jacks and 4 jackstands, most difficult part was cutting the stock exhaust off cause I kept thinking to myself, it's a 70K car and i'm cutting stuff off of it haha

Easy Peasy but I do recommend a friend and a lift. Getting the OEM exhaust off can be very cumbersome.

You can see in the video below. It took 2-3 of us to finally get the OEM exhaust off

Used to be cheaper just to buy a 12 pack and invite a few friends.... I swear there needs to be an app invented called "12-pack workers" where you post your beer and the work you're doing and let people decide if they want to barter for booze.... A functioning alcoholic is sometimes better than working by yourself.

SUPER EASY! I repeat, SUPER EASY. I did mine by driving the rear of my car on ramps and laying on the ground. Took me about 35 minutes on my '19 SS and about a hour and a half on my '22 ZL1. The reason for the longer time? My SS didn't have NPP exhaust and didn't have the valves. The valves were a little bit of a pain to get the old exhaust out and the new one in.

Honestly, anyone can do it.

The fact that you have a lift, it's going to be 100x easier than even laying in the driveway. There are tons of exhaust install videos on youtube as well to help along if you can't figure it out. Instructions are super simple to follow and come with colored , good definition images to go off of.

Hope that helps!
