Traction control issue?

Car is a Lt4 blower swapped 2ss. Recently got the car back after having the bottom end rebuilt and put a cam and circle d torque converter in. So yesterday I put my new drag pack on and put some miles on due to it finally getting above 50 here. I did a 305/45/17 rear and 265/45/18 front. Which comes out to 1/2” shorter front tire compared to the rear. Car had stock 1le wheels prior to this. 305/30/20 rears and 285/35/20 fronts.

Car drove around fine with zero lights so I got into the country and tried to roll into the throttle. As I sped up I saw the traction control light flash a couple times but the one time I laid into it it broke loose and revved to 6k. I got out of the throttle right away but then the rpm’s just hung there for what seemed forever. Almost like when the car goes into performance shift mode and holds the rpm’s. I was in touring though which from what I’ve read it won’t activate that.

Car drove fine after that and I don’t have any lights but now I’m a little concerned to get after it at all without knowing what that was all about first. Anyone had anything similar or am I just overthinking this?

Aggressive wide open throttle driving will activate performance transmission shift mode in touring, or sport...doesnt matter. The transmission will behave just as you described.

I don't think so. Whatever happened on OP's car (there are many potential contributors, power adder, tune, traction or lack thereof, tire sizes etc.), it wasn't performance shift mode, see below. I also tried to activate it in tour mode on my 2018 and it wouldn't.
