Car Rental

Hello,

My friend needs to rent a car to drive across country one way. He has low limits on credit cards and this is causing problems with the rates being so high.

He has 2 medium size dogs so a Uhaul is less than ideal but may be the only option.

They have $1500. I think 1000 in cash for the rental and 500 on a card.

Does anyone have any tips?

Hertz has a process that can take up to 30 days. Fill in the application here:
Images.hertz.com/PDFs/cashdepositcard.pdf

There is a $15 fee and timing might not work, but the process is there. Must be 21 and the card can be used for Hertz, Dollar and Thrifty.

I'm wondering if there are any ads anywhere where you can rent a car from a person and not through a company?
