Exclamation Exhaust makes a weird sound?

Hi fellow Camaro owners!

Today I took my new Camaro for a spin and tried to push the gas pedal a little more than usual, but nothing crazy.

when I came back to the garage, I noticed a strange sound coming from the exhaust that I could hear even during the drive.

Anybody knows what's up with the exhaust? Better to have it checked from a mechanic? What could be the reasons? I hope nothing serious!

Thanks!

I am no exhaustoligist but it sounds like you have something stuck inside the muffler(s) and its rattling around. Is it coming only from one side, or both?

Haven't checked properly but I think both sides, but more on the left. If I pushed the exhaust with my foot, it stops the sound.

Interesting theory that something might be inside the mufflers. If that's the case, what's the go-to process to fix it?

Find a nice, straight, flat, long stretch of smooth pavement, devoid of vehicles, pedestrians, and animals. Go as fast as you can for as long as possible. That should fix it. If not, at least you'll be happier than if you didn't enjoy that exhilarating jaunt.

Thanks man, I'll do that, I just hope that the exhaust doesn't need to be reinstalled or fixed in place

Probably a long shot but, if you have NPP, I'd say a loose butterfly valve?

I do have NPP. Thanks, I'll ask the mechanic to take a look. In your opinion is more probable to have a loose valve than the whole exhaust not properly fixed?

+1 for loose butterfly valve. The earlier models had this issue, although I have never heard it sound quite like that. I believe some tightening and some glue was the fix. Hopefully, that's your culprit, gl!

He has a Borla exhaust with its own NPP valves, so the stock remedy may or may not apply. I recall early Borla NPP exhausts had a rattling issue of their own, not sure what the fix was.

I'm not to sure to honest. I'm not familiar with the system. If that is what it is, get a quote and just take it from there. I do not have NPP on mine, apologies

Hey guys, the mechanic today checked the valve and he said it was good. We couldn't find out what the issue was because today the noise was much lower. Will try again next time and will get in touch with Borla, sending the video.

Will keep you posted!
