LGX V6 bent/crimped NPP - is this normal?
I did some searching and saw that near the rear of the car it's normal for the NPP exhaust to have a crimped section. My car's exhaust appears to have been bent/crimped just after the header on the driver's side. I'm about to take it to the dealer to have them see if it needs replaced, but figured I'd check here to see if this is normal. I don't see any damage above the exhaust to indicate that it was bent after delivery.
Anyone else with a V6 and NPP willing to take a look at yours? Thanks! |

Yes. Believe I had read somewhere this is done for some chassis bracing or something found on the convertibles, and, with the exhaust being universal for coupe and convertibles and the crimp sections are on both. Some other people dyno tested crimp and no crimp and seemed like it had no effect on performance/power.

Interesting, that makes sense! I guess I won't take it in then - glad it's OK.

It's normal, and there is no performance hit.
