Pontiac and Panther trademark renewed

So GM renewed the names Pontiac and Panther trademarks. So could this mean they might bring back the Camaro and the Firebird? (Could it also mean I should buy a powerball lottery ticket?)

Yeah, a lot of wishful thinking, but makes you wonder....

I retain hope for a 2+2 (I use my back seat), manual option, ICE sports car to return to gms lineup. The Alpha architecture is lauded as being one of the best, is capable of handling big power and it shouldn't owe gm much at this point. Why not use it as the basis for a two door car. That being said they designed the Blackwing V8 to use on very few vehicles before they canned it for whatever reason. So the names revival could also be the starting point for an EV SUV which would suck.

They probably don't want to compete against Ford starting a Pontiac Performance division or M-B starting a US-made Pontiac performance line.

Yeah, I'm planning to retire the end of next year, we are DEFINITELY leaving after that, just trying to figure out where... Been here nearly 14 years (for a really good job) but once I'm done, we're leaving and never looking back!

Likely only to be used on merchandise. They will not revive the Pontiac nameplate, and Panther has only been associated with the Camaro and it would be great to see them bring a Camaro concept car out that would be called Panther, or for the next Camaro to have a Panther trim as the Corvette has the Stingray, however I can't see it happening with GM's current decision makers.

I agree. According to GM Authority, people went to the executive 2 weeks ago to pitch a gen 7 Camaro, but they said no.....

Who knows. With the current administration tossing out CA's all EV car mandate, maybe as the lawsuits go through the courts and get tossed it could happen. I saw GM is coming out with a new V8...

GM should have never killed Pontiac. They should have killed Buick instead of turning that brand into Chinese knockoff crossovers.
