Borla Axle-Back Swap: Atak to S-Type
Currently I have the Borla Atak Cat Back System w/NPP on my ZL1. I ordered the Borla S-Type Axle-Back w/NPP and will be installing that prior to the rest of the mods(Big Gulp, 103 TB, Maggie 2650, 2" Kooks Headers... etc.).
Borla confirmed that the S-Type Axle-Back will match right up to the pipes from the Atak since it's all 3". Figured I would still throw the question out to you all. This should be very straight forward, right? Anything I should know or be mindful of while swapping the Axle-Backs? Tips? Tricks? Past Experiences? NPP? Codes that might get thrown? Yes, Once I have the Borla Atak Axle-Back off the car, I will list it for sale. Thank You

borla dosent make a axel back for ZL1s at least that what they told me. you may wanna double check the diameters. any axel back from borla is for the SS and had a diameter of 2.75 not 3.0

Hi this is incorrect. The cat back is a full 3" exhaust. The axle backs are only for the SS and they are 2.75". The axle back will not fit without modifying the muffler inlet (your going to need to expand it, or use an adapter) Edit: Unless you are ordering from them directly, then theyll want to see proof you purchased the full cat back and they will ship you a 3" cat back, as this is what i did when i changed mine. However, the axle back was not much more then an entire new cat back, so i got a whole new cat back s-type with carbon fiber tips. |

But not to worry, there is always a solution! The new plan is... 2" Kooks Headers w/Green Cats (probably) -> 3" Kooks X-Pipe -> Borla S-Type Axle Back w/ NPP. The Kooks 3" X-Pipe drops to 2.75" at the axle back so we can match up the S-Type.
