Apex SM-10 Group Buy

Hadn't seen it mentioned on here yet...

https://www.gangup.com/apex/apex-sm10-q1-2022.html

The Apex SM-10 in 18",19", and 20" Camaro fitment is part of the deal.

I can vouch for the last group but, I don’t think anybody anticipated the amount of purchases they got in the end

Tempting, what tire sizes would go on the 19x10? I know 275.40.19 what would the 285 size be? 285.35.19?

No, 275/35/19. The 40 series is too tall. For the rear the choice would then be 295/35/17. These are very close to stock 1LE tire diameters but 10mm narrower front and rear. It's the size I'm using for my street and rain autocross tires. 285/35 and 305/35 would be spot on, but there are almost no tires in the 305/35 size. If you're going to autocross on them in the dry, then the sizes to get are either 275/30 and 305/30 or 305/30 and 315/30.

I'm running 285/35/19 on the 19x10. Looks so good. It's a street car though, now family car.

Apex has fitment guides on their site. They say 275/35/19, 275/40/19, and 285/35/19 are good sizes for 19x10.

Interesting, I’d always heard 275.40 - I’m looking to stay square so I’d likely stick to 285.35 or 275.35 - probably autocross when my warranty is out.

19x10.5 with 305 Hankook RS4 square! Love my SM-10s, though now I don't really use them much since I also have a set of EC-7R haha

When I replied to you I was somehow thinking you were looking at 11" rears. If you're doing 19x10 square, then I'd go with 285/35/19 front and rear. Those are 26.9" tall, whereas a 275/40 is 27.7" tall and a 285/40 is 28" tall. I think the tallest tire that's ever come on any 6th-gen Camaro from the factory is 27.6". But you'll see a trend where the tires get wider and shorter as you climb the "performance ladder" through the Camaro lineup. Generally, when it comes to braking and turning corners, shorter tires are better. You also get a little more "breathing room" in terms of clearance in the wheel wells, which might come in handy if you're going to get four wheels with the same offset (true square fitment).

Autocross use won't void your warranty. Send it now!

I thought it voided the warranty for LT1 models, but not SS?

And thanks for the tire advice that makes sense. I’m new to having an actual performance car and considering wheels in general…

There's a biiiig difference between track events and autocross events, though. Shouldn't void the warranty if you're just driving around on a parking lot in a low-speed time trial.
