Injectors schooling needed please

My build is so close to starting as just waiting for the last few parts to show, but I would like some input before the labor starts. I don't want to pay for labor twice, so I want input if I should install 30% Injectors while it's apart. I told the shop from the beginning that reliability is number one goal. I know others have done similar builds without Injectors, but I don't want to find that I'm on the edge.

The Build: Magnuson 2650 w/103 snout, NW103, Big Gulp, BTR stage 2 cam 38% fuel, Dsx aux pump, Lingenfelter high flow check valve, American racing 2 " Headers plus engine and trans tune. 93 octane and possibly a 100 octane tune for track days.

Lastly, if I do the 30% Injectors do I have to change the high side pump?

I’d do the +30 injectors if you want to blend in some E. If you’re going to use 100 octane, you won’t need them yet, but you’re close.

With the +38 fuel lobe, LT4 HPFP is fine for now.

Both of those go out the window if you decide to really pulley the 2650 though...

I have xdi 60 over injectors in mine makes 880 wheel on 13lbs of boost with a whipple and similar mods that’s on my ss 1le on my zl1 1le I am about to put a 2650 on and I will be doing similar mods and will go 60 over again so I am not limited if I go bigger in the future. 60 over was only 300 more than 30 over its kinda like 33% over vs 38% on the cam. I would do the injectors if it’s in the budget while the supercharger is off or it will cost you at least 500 more if you do it later due to labor being done twice.

Did u do high side pump as well?

I have the lingenfelter big bore hpfp on the ss 1le but I don't see an issue with the lt4 hpfp. The lt1 pump had to be changed.

i would do the jms voltage booster as well. It will keep the voltage consistent and reduce the duty cycle of the pump. I have the dsx low side and the jms voltage booster.

If you want to maximize them a pump upgrade helps. Once that high side drops off it doesn't matter how big the injector is. That being said the injectors seem to max out before the pump really drops off so there is some room to operate.

I would get the +30 FIC, LPE DI pump, and get a JMS for the low side. You can then turn the High Side pressure down and utilize volume over pressure which will take some strain off the low side. Then you can run E60 instead of high dollar race gas.

I like what I am hearing about FIC because they supply good data.

Yep, i just asked the shop doing my build about doing injectors. I told them i dont want to pay for labor twice, so if borderline, lets do it now.

Why the bid difference in prices among injector brands? I was looking at these for $700 vs other brands are 2500-3200.

Those must be Gen II LT1/4 injectors...they’re not DI ones. Rated at 43.5 psi...not the 2500+ psi we need.
