The factory front splitter plastic is too thin IMO. The Ikon replacement replica I bought after mine cracked on a piece of blown out tire was cheaper and looks almost identical to the factory splitter and the plastic is thicker.

I understeered right into a cone that ended up under the car at an autocross with the Ikon and it was not damaged at all, just a minor scuff that rubbed off. That same event might have cracked a factory splitter.

I would probably fix that, if I thought I could make the seamless repair, which certainly looks like you could.

I replaced my cracked front splitter with a GM pre-painted part. Probably the same cost if I had tried to get the original one repaired and repainted.

Glen E had posted a good thread on removing the old one and using plastic rivets to install the new one (instead of pop rivets and double-sided tape).

Unfortunately a new OEM SS splitter is over $400! Not sure why it is so much more than a replacement ZL1 front splitter.

Also I just used bolts and 3m tape (less than the factory used) to mount my replacement and it held on fine at 140mph at NOLA...no need to replace the 4 factory rivets with anything after drilling them out.
