When you upgrade - whats your next step?
I love my SS despite the numerous issues I've had with it.
I don't have a desire for a new car despite the 2020's and the 10 speed auto, I more-less just want to own my car for right now but some of me plays around with thoughts and wonders, what I would go for if I did in time decide to upgrade or change... What would you do? Upgrade to 16-18 ZL1? Upgrade to 19-20 ZL1? Upgrade to 16-18 1LE? Upgrade to 19-20 1LE? Upgrade to 16-18 SS (aimed at T4 / V6 owners from 16 thru 20) Upgrade to 19-20 SS? Going with a different platform? |

Latest and greatest...that I can afford. I’m looking at either supercharge the SS or 20+ zl1.

Well I've had my 16 2SS/M6 for about 6 months now, and I love it! It's NOT my DD, and it's far and away the newest toy/hot rod I've ever owned. All the others have been older muscle. I plan to own it for a few more years and really enjoy the heck out of it. Still....it just lacks something the older cars have in my opinion. As good as it is, far better outta the box than any other car I've owned, but it's just....I dunno. It's just not the same. Maybe it's the level of tech and refinement. I don't know. Don't get me wrong, my SS has made me a believer in modern muscle. I just think for me it's the build more than the bottom line performance that I enjoy.
My plan....or maybe my hope....would be to start acquiring parts for a Factory Five Cobra build, then sell the SS and purchase the build kit. |

Not even close to wanting to sell my SS but by the time I do may go Corvette again. Just depends on what the Corvette and SS look like by then

I'll see where things go, having absolutely no desire to sell or "upgrade". The C8 and its future derivatives look very interesting, in theory of course.

I upgraded from a new 2016 2SS to a used low mileage 2017 ZL1 last March and so far no regrets! My 2016 was in a head on collision 6 months after I bought it and it was repaired but issues started showing up and I found a used 2017 ZL1 and the rest is history.
