dealership messed up seat cover?

Hello all, this is my first post on this website and its because of concerns i have with my 2016 2ss seats. the passenger seat was getting torn up and it has the white leather seats. the replacement put in by the dealership is all wrinkled up and looks pretty bad. they tried to reassure me that the wrinkles come out in 6-9 months?? that sounds rediculas and i think theyre lying to me. Anyone that can give me insight would be greatly appreciated. OH and they tore up the top of the seat that didnt need replacement while i had t in their care.

Sounds very fishy this 6-9 months? I guess when you bought your car new things looked fine. The car was manufactured with 1-2 weeks without any wrinkles and no waiting required ...

Looks to me like packaging marks. The small area is damaged but a steam should get out the wrinkles. Maybe you have a local upholstery shop that could give you some advice, sure the dealership is not an expert.

New seat covers come waded up in a plastic bag and will definitely be wrinkled and will never be as good as the original, I am a technician at a dealership and see this happen every single time a customer wants a seat cover replaced it will always look worse than the original. If you take a shirt and wadded it up in a plastic bag and leave it on a shelf for months it will be wrinkled and look like garbage this is exactly what the seat cover has done.

I can attest to this too, as my brother (who was a GM technician at the time) and I replaced the front leather seat covers in my 2010 Camaro SS with factory covers. The seats looked very good considering we didn't use steam, but the few minor wrinkles that did exist, took a couple months of seat time and summer sun to cure.

Part out. Get out while you still can. It’s ruined and will never be the same again.

Wrinkles, no biggie. The scuff in pic 4 or 2nd to last is the issue. Good luck, it took me 5 weeks an internet rants to get Chevy to call the dealer on cutting my leather steering wheel on my 2013 Vert. They were replacing the header panel above the wheel. A hole Service manger damaged my feelings about his dealership & ended up replacing it anyway.

I traded the car in 4 weeks later for my 2018 RS Hyper Blue.
