Square Setup for One Lap

So I've done some searching and I can't find much follow up on threads so here goes the question.

I'll be running Brock Yates One Lap of America with my ZL1 1LE next may and for those not familiar with this unique event, one of the main rules is that you must run the same set of tires for the whole event. This consists of 8 track days and 3,500 miles of driving in 8 days.

I'm considering running a square setup on the car with an asymmetric tread pattern which would allow me to rotate the tires around the car to even out wear and have a chance of making the whole event.

What I'm hoping to do is run two sets of 19x11 or 18x11 and a 315 tire front and rear, has anyone A)done this and B)had any issues with the computer systems on the car?

Im pretty sure a 315 tire will your stock rear wheels.
Looks like alot of the drivers went with Falken Azenis RT615K+ or pilot sports.

You’d have to unmount the tires and switch which wheels they are on due to off sets being different on the front/rear.

I've done it with spacers so the wheels can be rotated. My setup was 20x10 with a 30mm offset. I used a 20mm spacer in the front and a 5mm in the rear. It worked fine. I used 295/30-20 square.

if you get the TSW 19s 5 x 120mm 27mm offsets you can run 305s all the way around.. if you run a big amount of camber on the zl1 1le's you need to barely grind the front strut or coil over lower mount or run a 3mm spacer. Works really nice with RE71s or R888s or the cups with 40 tread rating..

the are some cheap perrellis w Asym trackable and street tires w low tread rating less than 100 to.

Welcome to One Lap - it's the best week in motorsports.

This year's route is likely to be cold and wet, with probably the only warm day being Friday at NCM. With that, we're likely going to go back to the PS4S, which we ran in this year's event. After 5,400 miles (including the trip to and from South Bend), the tires still have lots of life in them. I'll be driving to and from VIR on them next month, and will be double-stinting the car with my 2019 co-driver on those tires.

So the short of it is that you don't really need to anticipate rotating tires during the event. Last year, I ran 285/305 staggered on OEM SS1LE wheels. We packed light and didn't even bring a spare. This year, I'll be running square tires on staggered wheels (305s on 5th gen Z/28 wheels). Since I'm anticipating a trailer, I'll bring a spare unmounted tire, but don't plan on using it.

Let me know if you have any questions about the event, and you've got a great car. There's at least one other ZL1 1LE that will be participating this year. See you in South Bend!
