Incorrect Tach

Has anyone else had an issue with their Tachometer?
I'm having an intermittent issue. The tach will go up and down but its not always correct. Sometimes it says that I'm doing 500 rpm while driving 70mph. Yesterday it said that I was idling at 3500 RPM. Most of the time, it works fine. I'd take it in but I'm sure sense its not a consistent issue, they wont find the problem. The tech will drive the car hard to cause the issue and it wont happen. Then I look like an idiot because it won't mess up for him. I have made a couple of videos with my phone to record the issue. I'm sure the dealership will blame me for causing the problem. (not had much luck with dealerships)

Don't assume anything, only a dealer can fix this. Go into them and let them view the videos. If you're lucky, they would have encountered this before and know where to start instead of guessing. It's more than likely a sensor, or a problem with the guage itself - all electronic.
