Rear Bunper Cover Factory Defects?

I just traded my 2017 Camaro on a new 18 and with both cars my dealer located exactly what I wanted from another dealer. Sadly on my 17 there was an outward type dent about the size of a quarter to the left of the license plate that I decided to live with rather than repair and repaint the bumper cover. Now on the new 2018 the car arrived with two round indentions one on top of the other in the same area about half the size of a dime. Once again I guess I will just bite the bullet and live with this, as most wouldn't spot it if they didn't know it was there. I know that quality control on these cars seem all but non existent, but two cars in a row becomes frustrating. Just curious is any other owners have had any plant quality issues with their rear bumper cover? Sadly, I have learned to accept minor fit and finish issues on these cars knowing that it's just the way it is ! I kind of laugh when I see the stickers on our divers side door with the goal of the worlds best quality. That's a pretty high bar to set with what I've seen leave the plant !

These are likely the mounting dimples for Euro spec license plates. Chevy uses the same bumper across regions, so it has dimples for both NA and EU.

I agree---my rear fascia exhibits the same inconspicuous "dimples." Other than my taillights not fitting the same relative to the decklid, I have not observed any fit and/or finish issues with my vehicle.

I am thinking this post from the thread you mentioned is a more likely reason. Originally Posted by chris227 View Post

THE IDIOTS AT THE DEALERSHIP DRILLED THE WRONG PAIR OF DIMPLES WHICH MADE THE TAG OFFSET, NOW AFTER DRILLING THE CORRECT PAIR OF DIMPLES I HAVE TWO EXTRA HOLES BEHIND THE TAG.
TO THE LEFT OF THE PLATE ON MY 2017 IS A SLIGHT “BUMP” ABOUT THE SIZE OF A DIME AND IS DEFINATELY NOT A DIMPLE. I WOULD SUSPECT THAT IT IS A DEFECT IN THE FACTORY MOLD.
I BOUGHT A PLASTIC “LICENSE PLATE ADAPTER” ON EBAY FOR $9.84 WHICH IS THE SAME DIMENSIONS AS THE METAL TAG AND ABOUT 1/4” THICK. IT SPACES THE METAL PLATE OFF OF THE PAINTED RUBBER BUMPER COVER AND PREVENTS THE EDGE OF THE PLATE DAMAGING THE PAINT.

The dealer did the same thing on one of my old cars and I had 2 extra holes behind my tag. I wasn't happy. As for the bump you describe I had the exact same thing on my 17 Camaro I traded in. It all boils down to poor quality control on these cars.
