Powder Coating

Just curious if anyone has black powder coated their stock rims on the LT models and how they came out and if you've had any problems with them

I powder coated a set of SS wheels, that were scratched/pitted from track use. Have run them for a year plus now, no issues. Finish still looks like the day I picked them up.

I changed my blacks to a dark grey.

I have zero miles on mine but I just powder coated my factory SS wheels. I didn't like the silver painted look. I either wanted chrome or black. Black was a lot cheaper. They came out very nice. It was a PITA because I didn't have any wheels to put on my car while I was coating them so it sat on jack stands for 1 week. You gotta take the tires off and the TPS sensors and also the wheel weights. Send them to the coater and then back to the tire store for mounting and balancing. Also gotta somehow paint the center caps so they somewhat match the wheels.

Mount/dismount/balance was like $160
Powder coat was $150
