A10 Easter Egg

The sticky says "The A10 features several "easter eggs". For example, when driving in a highway gear, you can hold the downshift paddle for one second and the transmission will immediately shift into the lowest possible gear for a pass."

I tried this today and it would not work. I am wondering if anyone was able to get this to work?

I've tried it too and it didn't work. Maybe it has to be in Sport mode or PTM? I only attempted it once or twice.

It's also available on the A8. You may need to hold the paddle down a bit longer.

Yeah I was going to comment my 2.0 a8 can do this lol. I thought it was in almost every paddle car, at least any I have ever driven if you hold the downshift paddle it will drop it to lowest gear possible

It has to be in manual mode already, and you have to let off the gas before the shift will execute, after holding the paddle and letting off it will immediately downshift.

So, tap to get manual mode or use shifter to put it into manual
Hold downshift paddle
Quickly let off throttle
Downshift executes
Hammer throttle and go.

I don't really like it as it will literally downshift to the lowest possible gear, not necessarily the BEST gear. So it will drop it into 3rd at 5800 RPM giving you only a split second before it needs to shift again. Flooring it in Drive always goes to the smartest gear for acceleration RIGHT NOW, whereas the hold down-shift paddle "Easter egg" doesn't.

This feature however would be EXTREMELY useful for the track. Which is why it doesn't worry about going to the lowest possible gear, because you're going to be on the brakes and decelerating, also makes sense that you have to be off the throttle for it to do this so that it doesn't do it to you while you're still driving into the corner. More than likely, track use is what it's meant for.

If roll racing is your plan, push the shifter to manual, drop it to the smartest gear, floor it, and simultaneously slap the paddle back to Auto and let it shift for you. Proven fastest shifts and no need to worry about pre-shifting or hitting the limiter.

Thank you for this information. I would go test this right now if it wasn't raining for the foreseeable future!
