You should get that changed out like so many other people on here and gain exactly 0 HP. You will lose ground clearance though.

That's where the exhaust buckles when you get rear ended. As everyone else has noted, it does not negatively affect power.

If you get rid of it, plan on having the impact energy transferred into the headers and shearing off the header bolts into the cylinder heads.

Crush zones in the exhaust system for rear end hits, makes sense as there is no other reason to crush the pipe like that. I spent 33 years in the collision business and tail pipes usually bend from rear impact over the axle. Since the Camaro tail pipes go straight and under the axle, it would take a lot more to buckle the pipe and do damage further forward. But I am not convinced the crush zone doesn't hurt flow.

I'd imagine eventually you might get to a point where it might hurt flow, but on a stock vehicle, i think it's probably ok

Can't really see how you'd lose clearance. The flat part is on top, not bottom, and there's plenty of room

Looking to get this crush pipe fix at Summit Racing, however they are back ordered.
Anyone else purchase this?
