Any 6th Gen Suspension experts? Non Magnetic SS suspension in RS V6 Camaro?
Would like to know if a stock 6th gen SS Camaro suspension (non mag ride) will work in a V6 RS 6 Gen? I have a full set of new SS take offs and wanted input BEFORE I spend the time to install. Will it change ride height or have any negative effect on handling in any way? Would I have to add the SS sway bars (bushings etc.) or others mods to make it work? Thanks in advance for any info or input. |

Yes you can absolutely do that. The V6 1LE model literally uses the base SS suspension. In terms of other differences beyond the springs/shocks/sway bars, there is a rear control arm which has a ball joint and the sway bar end links are steel instead of plastic. You have FE2 suspension while the base SS/V6 1LE has FE3 suspension.
There's another active thread a few down which mentioned the rear toe link: http://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=524257 |

Also check out the part number megathread.
The V6 1LE runs different springs to account for the reduced weight. SS springs in a V6 will cause it to sit high. I *think the V6 1LE springs are #'s 84186922 (x2 for the front), but I can't figure out the rear spring part number. Message scottb [sic?], he's an active forum member with a V6 1LE, he should be able to take a flashlight and read the part number tag on his rear springs.
