ZZP rotors SS 1LE

Seen a post a while back someone was going to try the ZZP two piece rotors then give some feedback. Haven't been able to track the post down so does anyone have any real world feedback. They seem to be an economical way of replacing rotors if they hold up well.

I'm wondering about these, too. They are half the price, sure.... but if they last half as long, it may not be worth it.

I am strongly considering buying a set, as my OE rings are reaching their minimum thickness. Problem is, I do more autocrossing than track days, so I won't have any good answers about their durability for quite a while. I did email ZZP and they said:

I was asking about the weight because I would want to make sure they fit within F Street rules in SCCA autocross class rules (Girodisc and DBA could be protested). Anyway, the only real question is metallurgy and treatment.

That is my real concern. If the alloy is softer or more prone to cracking or whatever, it may not be worth the reduced cost. I do a lot of HPDE and repeated braking from 120+ mph over a 20 minute session will wear out inferior parts pretty quick.

Hopefully someone who has used them can chime in and give some feedback soon.

I got the stock SS caliper and rotor kit for my turbo 4 camaro. I don't track my car, just wanted it for looks. The calipers are great but the rotors included in the kit rusted at the hub right away. I swapped them out for the coated type that came stock on the car. Thought that was kind of cheap.

I know this is an older post, just in case people are searching. I put on a set today and the run out was within spec of .0004 and thickness tolerance within the .0002. Words of wisdom you need two hardware packs, those packs each cost $100. I have Tyler overnighting the second set so I can finish up tomorrow. The one PIA is the coating on the rotors, glad I had enough brake cleaner and used a green scotch pad to get the coating off. Hardware looked better than the OEM matched the OEM and I like the idea of everything being stainless. Get the second one on then bed in the rotors and see how that goes. More follow ups after a Mid Ohio and NCM date over the next couple weeks. Put on a new set of GLoc R12.

I just installed the DBA 5000 rotors this spring. I was unaware of the ZZP option but if they are indeed oem rotor rings I would definitely buy them over DBA. The DBA seem fine but are heat checking very quickly vs oem, wear so far seems ok. GiroDisc might be even better but they're $1200 and you need the hats, rings are $800 which isn't horrible if they are somehow better than oem.

I bought from 89x, they also sell a hardware kit for $40. Didn't include the clips but I had no issue reusing those. Links below for DBA rings and hardware...
