Brand new ZL1 owner

I'm picking up my 2018 ZL1 on Monday and wanted to know which mods wake up the engine, not looking to go crazy (yet).

I'm very familiar with the LS3 engine, I have pretty much maxed out the engine (stock bottom end) but new to this engine.

Any help would be great! Thank you.

It looks like his SS makes about 200 more HP than a stock ZL1. So he might be a little disappointed until he mods the ZL1 a little.

Partly, but I want to try and keep it as quite as possible, I saw a thing on one website that by changing the upper pulley to a slightly smaller one, adding an intake and tune they were up to 615whp?

i have a Roto-fab cold air, ARH 2" uncatted long tubes, a Lingenfelter 18% lower pulley and my car made 653/664 to the wheels through the A10 auto. The car drives like bone stock until you go WOT and then it try's to kill you till about 100 mph.

Put it to you this way...The LT4 will make 750 RWHP with ease. Glad to see a logical LS3er who realizes maxing the LS3 safely happens at about 750 RWHP, not 900 RWHP like some think.

Headers
Intake
Pulley
Cam
E85/Meth

You'll rock 700-750 RWHP easy. I'd maybe start with Intake, Pulley, Headers, and tune. When you get used to that, port your heads and get a good Cam and you'll be well into the 700s. Meth or E85 at that point is worth 50-100 RWHP, definitely worth considering. Seems a lot of people are against Meth and or E85 but they really are game changers when you're making power like this.

If you want a stockish setup then the Intake/Pulley/Tune route is up your alley. However I'd be REALLY careful about doing that on stock manifolds and cats. Headers won't make it sound stock anymore, but you do have "Stealth" exhaust mode when you need it quiet.

Big fan of the SS and on Forgestars it looks really sweet.

Actually not wanting to do headers, that's when the noise levels went up on my car, it sounded like a stock gen 5 Camaro ZL1.

I think based on the info I'll start with the Pulley/Intake/Tune, and see how it feels, I was thinking about a bigger TB and port the SC, but not sure if the gains are not worth the expense?

If I end up going further then I'll do the meth, I have it on the SS.

Thanks for the input?

I like to switch it up with CTSV alloys.
