2018 ZL1 intercooler upgrade?
I was talking with a tuner today about adding a Pulley kit, exhaust, cai and tune, he suggested an intercooler upgrade as well.
Do you guys feel it is necessary/ beneficial? |

If you're talking just swapping out intercoolers, no. If you're talking adding an ice box to your intercooler system for drag racing, then yes.

I plan on occasional drag use, but mainly street use.
They claim they have better intercoolers than stock, we didn't discuss ice box. I am coming from a CTSV where the intercooler upgrade was very beneficial but one of the selling points of the ZL1 was the better cooling already provided from the factory, so I am skeptical of the need for the intercoolers. |

I'm no expert, but I am trying to sleep restlessly in a Holiday Inn Express tonight...
From the reading I've done, with 11 heat exchangers in the car, cooling shouldn't be an issue for what you're going to do with your car. The icebox could help when you do drag.

The ZL1 has excellent intercoolers from the factory..... unless you go to an extreme on upgrades, it will not be needed.......
