Suede Trim for 2018

Anyone know about this? The configurator now shows the dash insert and upper door panel insert in suede when you add the knee pads.

I really hope this is true because the hard plastic by the windowsill makes it uncomfortable to rest your arm on. It's my only complaint with the 1LE interior.

I hope you can buy just upper door panel in suede separately. I got the suede knee pads already.

Although I like the idea about the suede on everywhere else (I have the suede knee pads also), I am not certain if it's a good idea on the upper door panel as it gets some rain drops every once in a while and leather or plastic might be a bit more durable

There is an install video of a company redoing the top door panels. Quite extensive.
Top panels are not available separately, it is all one piece.

This would be a dedicated part for 1SS 1LE's further complicating the build. The 1SS door panel does not have the memory switches and thus that cutout is not in the 1SS panel...otherwise could use ZL1 panel but it would have red stitching tho.

I bought the ZL1 door panels so I could have the suede in place of the scratchy plastic, I regret nothing.

The stitching on the ZL1 door panels doesn't match. I was hoping the ZL1 1LE would have the light gray but no dice.

On a side note, I also have the suede center armrest and would recommend it.

I bet thats the 2SS 1LE door panels. The 1SS 1LE will probably remain the same. Good news is us 1SS guys might finally be able to buy door panels with the suede and not have to get red stitching.

The red stitching doesn't bother me at all, it's really not even noticeable unless you are looking for it. I actually like the contrast, I added the dash insert too so my doors and dash have the red stitching while the seats, wheel and shifter have gray, I think it looks awesome.

Seems legit. I see the infotainment shows Nav, but there aren't any seat heat/cool switches. Could just be an omission in the rendering though.

I'm kind of with Cem here; a rainy track day would make a mess of the suede door panels. Though I do agree they make the cabin look better.

Mine get wet fairly regularly due to being out in rain storms and getting in/out of the car.. Don't really notice any issues with it and it dries fine. It's no worse than the 2SS door trim we have with regard to getting wet.

good to hear that, it sounds like it's a more durable type they used on these cars then

I assume it's Alcantara, not suede, correct? Alcantara is actually pretty durable, I've had it on a number of cars and never had much of a problem with stains or unusual wear.

I picked mine up today. It's a 17, but ordered the suede knee pads. They installed them in the last few days before my pick up, and I have suede pads on the door and on center console for right knee. I'm new so I didnt think anything of it. At least I think it is what you all are talking about. I can take pics in the morning if anyone is interested.
