General question about 17 2SS prices

I read around on the forum but most of the threads has died out. Im in the market for a 2017 2SS with NPP. Price is at $42,685 right now, but the car has been sitting for close to 400 days at this specific Chevy dealer. On top of that, they have 4 others that have been sitting just as long or a little longer. Question is, what could be a good price to negotiate? I was thinking about 20% off the price for the fact that the car has sat a whole year throughout the weather. And the 2018 are already on the road

The lowest advertised price 2017 2SS in the country looks to be $37K, but it does not have NPP. It really depends on the dealer, the other options in addition to NPP, etc. Before I decided I'd rather have a 1LE the best discount I saw on a 2017 2SS was 12.5%. I don't know how much lower they would have been willing to go, but 20% may be a stretch for August. Try again in October or later for the big discounts.

I'm in the DMV area and it's a dealer a little closer to me that has one for about 38k non NPP with the red adrenaline seats and I'm sure I could get the price dropped lower. The only difference with the specific 2SS listed at 42k is the NPP. It also has the red adrenaline seats. Just seems weird that for a car to be sitting for over a year, they would want to drop that price from 42k. Price hasn't budged in 5 months
