Zl1 A10 Shifting Issues on Track
Taking the car in today for service to see if they can do anything about this, it seems to happen around 6-7 laps in. Im driving the car pretty hard but not abusive it was on 80 degrees outside. Ive also has had a pretty harsh downshift from 4th to 3rd since ive had it but i thought that may be normal? IDK Hope they can do something. I love the trans but if it isnt gonna hold to 5 or 6 laps then this is a major problem.

If you've had harsh downshifts since you had it, it's possible there's just something up with the unit and not the model as a whole.
I have a track day on 8/7 an mine's been great otherwise (no hard shifts as you've listed), so we'll see if I have similar issues. |

It looks like it's slipping on those shifts. Is the car stock?

I didn't watch the whole video but if that wasn't wheelspin at 1:13 in the video then that is definitely not right. No way your tranny should flare like that, especially already being in gear. I would take that in.

I agree with the others; sounds like it's slipping on some of the upshifts. I didn't notice the trans fluid temp. What was the temp and what's considered normal for the A10?

Get them to double check obvious things like fluid level and TCM software updates. We're you using the paddles or not when this crazy shifting occurred?

Sounds like not lagging, but slipping.
Typical causes are slipping clutch packs, or a sticky solenoid. Not the torque converter because it doesn't slip in all gears. Best thing they could do is replace the whole tranny. ![]()

Video isn't working for me so I can't comment but I too am having intermittent gear shift issues with my A10.
When driving my ZL1 hard the shift from 4th to 5th can be really aggressive. It's happened to me a few times now. I'll try to replicate it while recording on the PDR so I can show my dealer... (along with all the other 'new car' faults!) |
