Dealer warrantied my tires

Went to johnny londoff chevy where I purchased my car for my second oil change 6003 miles on a 2016 ss. Standing at the counter talking to the advisor a mechanic walks up and says have you been Drifting that ss? I said no why and he points out the outer edge of both front tires had far more wear than any portion of any other tire. Advisor looks agreed something was wrong. Added that to the list to check within 20 min they had new tires ordered and it was being aligned. By far the best service I have ever had at a dealer. If your near st Louis check out johnny londoff they definitely took care of me without me even asking it was great.

That's legit. My tires are worn out there too. The runflats wear out super quickly.

wouldn't that be a sign of a camber issue? i can't imagine them warrantying a tire just because of how it naturally wears ...whether that's slowly or quickly. More likely they found some issue with your alignment and warrantied it... or someone working in the service department has a camaro and wanted slightly used new tires for tracking and had GM pay the bill

^ This. It's nice regardless that they took care of you, but this was probably primarily cited as an alignment issue. Otherwise, if they billed GM just for the tires under warranty, they'd be in for a hard time.

Agreed..I'm sure they figured that the alignment was well beyond factory spec and covered it. Buddy had a dealer do the same thing on his Corvette.

Sounds like a good service center to take a car.

PS: Run on Flat tires or Run flats do not wear any faster than non run flats. Comes down to treadwear rating you get and how hard you drive your car.

Sounds like you probably loaned your car out to a friend who ran the ---- out of it in a parking lot.

PS: It doesn't always come down to how hard you drive your car. Tire compounds vary and the F1 is soft and even with day to day driving will wear much faster than a harder compound, run flat or not, makes no difference. I don't understand why the accepted it after 6,000 miles but if so, well, it's on them.

Hello from the STL

I meet Jonny Londoff by accident 2 weekend ago. I had my car for service and left something in the car since they gave me a rental. When I walked in an older gentlemen asked if I needed help because I was headed to their service department that was closed early on Saturday. I told him the situation and he went out of his way to help me get one of the shop guy that was already off to find the car and the key that was locked up over the weekend. I didn't find out it was Mr. Londoff untill the end when I introduce myself, thanked him for the help and asked for his name. In my experience, if this is the type of attitude the owner has about his customer's needs, I know this is a dealership that will take care of you and your needs. Not to mention everyone there was friendly and helpful, especially the rental lady, she was great. Been to quite a few dealership in STL (10+) and this was by far the best experience I had, highly recommend.
