Help! A half gallon of half and half SPILLED carpet

Yes a milk product spilled on the carpet in the back ( busted carton). I immediately soaked up all that I could and took it to a detailed yesterday who assured me he could get it all out. No odor when I picked it up but today after being outside in the heat, the odor was terrible. What can I do? Do I need to just replace the carpet?

Back in the day, my toddlers were always spilling milk bottles in the family minivan. Stinks for a while but then dries up and goes away. Just open the windows and let it bake in the sun. You'll be alright.

Try putting a couple of bowls of baking soda in the car, leave in sun with windows down.

IF you do not think you can r&r the carpet, then yes dealer or a trusted body shop. Also places that do the leather seats for dealers may do something like this. If you can get it out and wash just the area that was soaked it may be ok. You can also give the detailer a return visit.

In days gone by, I have had this issue with beer, oops. That smell, in the Texas heat, was also bad but did go away with out any r&r or washing of the carpet. Tuff for a week or so...

Crying over spilled milk

I used this or the starbrite odor absorbent on my boat when we got in a hurry and forgot to clean out the livewell for a few days.
