RPI Front Rock Guard - Premium - Installation
I tried to install the RPI Front Rock Guard - Premium - this morning, but could not get the push pin fastener to hold with the Rock Guard in place.
I can get it to work without the Rock Guard in place - as well as when I tried the non-premium (thinner) RPI Front Rock Guard The kit did also come with 4 push pin "Christmas Tree" fastners - but none of them was fat enough to actually grab anything when I tried them either.... Has anyone else run into problems installing the RPI Front Rock Guard Premium (thicker) set? Any tips on installing them? |

What year is your car? I had zero issues on my 2018 with the RPI premium splash guards, the push pins (mine are not actually the Christmas tree but the split center type) were thick enough to expand and hold the plastic in place.
Worst case you can get an automotive retainer clip kit with thicker push pins and use those. They'll also come in handy whenever you break one installing something in the trunk area or for the interior.

The pin was the split center type - whenever i tried to use that to install the premium splash guard, it would pull out very easily (without having to pop out the center pin). It almost seemed like I couldn't get it deep enough to grab the piece behind the wheel well liner. It did work fine when I tried to install the front non-premium splash guard. Oddly, the premium kit camp with 4 Christmas tree fasteners (along with 4 screws).... Thanks for the quick reply... I'll give it another shot with the premium set once the non-premium set starts looking beat |
