Do you guys keep the ac running while shutting of your car? Or do you shut down ac before shutting it down

I shut everything off and then I shut it down. Don't really know if it's better or not but it's just how I've always done it.

I just hit the start/stop button and the car turns off. Then when I start it again all the climate control settings are just where I last left them. I set the climate control for the temp I want and let it do all the work of changing the temperature and fan settings. It works great. I rarely move mine off 74 degrees - it just does its thing and I concentrate on driving and enjoying the car. I see no need for a bunch of extra steps when starting and stopping cars by turning things on and off. The car computers take care of all that for you.

Yep, in the "good ol' days" I would turn off the radio, amp, fan, AC, lights. I was a busy guy. Now it just set it and forget it. Push the button and hold on.

I shut mine off about 3 minutes from home to try and dry out the condensation in the HVAC to avoid mold build up and the musty smell that comes with it.

There should be an "afterblow" in the AC system. It was an add to my SS Sedan via calibration. But the fan will continue to run a bit after you turn the car off to avoid moisture or condensation in the system.

This is excellent advise. I shut off the compressor while leaving the fan on high speed to evacuate the water out of the evaporator box. By doing this, it may extend the life of the evaporator from water remaining on it and causing corrosion.

I always turn the A/C off first before turning the car off.

I always turn the AC or heat off before shutting the vehicle off.

This practice came out of the old, old, old days when cars had no accessory mode. In the days of 6 volt systems and generators the radio ran directly off the battery. So even when you shut the engine off the radio (if you had that option lol) was still on. If you didn't turn it off before or shortly after you shut the car off it would kill your battery quickly: these radios used vacuum tubes so they pulled quite a bit of current.

Today all electrical runs through the accessory circuit so everything loses main 12v power when the engine is shut off.

Yes, I forgot to mention to leave fan on high. Good advice.
