50th Anniversary Purchase? Auto or Manual? Good Deal??

Looked at a 50th today had a MSRP of $48,790

Sunroof
50th Edition
NPP
Magnetic Ride Control
Wheel locks
Chevy mylink audio

Ended up paying about $40,790 for the car although I did leave it at the dealer and picking it up early next week.

They are also throwing in Black Bow ties!

A few questions though...

Should I get a Manual or Automatic?
Did I miss any features with that package that is highly desired?

Ss I'm assuming correct? Auto vs manual is going to open up a shit storm more than likely lol. It is 100% personal preference bro. If you are a track guru and live in a super congested city and drive during peak rush hour get an auto. If you prefer roll racing, and more of a fun car and don't track it get the manual.

Mine is a 50th anniv fully loaded manual and I live in Houston. I wouldn't even consider an auto but that is my personal opinion.

How did you get $8000 off sticker for a 50th 2SS? I almost don't believe it.

If that is a new, never titled 2017 2SS with less than 10 miles on it, run and throw your money at them. If you don't I will.

Yep it is 2SS! Just wanted to know different POVs on the Manual vs Auto. I know auto gets better MPG right? I preferred auto due to the remote start feature mainly. But the Manual is FUN but I'm sure it will wear off down the road. I will never be tracking or anything just a DD that's all. Aside from the fun factor I selected a Manual because it's 1500 less or so. But as I was informed by the dealer resale value is higher on autos.

Sounds like the right MSRP for a 2SS manual. Auto would be a little more. Auto vs manual is totally personal preference. I went with auto. I like to enjoy my drive and be able to have a soda at the same time! As far as the deal, I would say it's a great one and probably one of the best we've seen on these so far. You got about 20% off if your numbers are correct. I, for example, got just about 10% off.

The rev match was pretty neat in the Manual also.

If I had gotten the AUTO.. I would have regretted it and wished that I had gotten the manual but here is the BRUTAL Truth..

I did get the manual and there are times I wished I'd gotten the Auto. Here's a few key things on the pros and con's . I guess each has some.

M6 Pros:

Nothing comes close to sounding SOO Good as the m6 rolling through the gears
A more connected interaction with the car
Blipping the throttle between gears on occasion.
Rev Match feature

M6 Cons
I have stalled out a few times at a redlight. (So embarrassing).
I have gotten caught in some heavy stop and go traffic
The clutch Chatter at low speeds (Parking space hunting). Getting much better at letting off the gas before the clutch to minimize this sound.
Notchy gears on the cold mornings
Missing a shift
Auto shifts faster :(

I don't own the A8 so can't speak on the Pro's and Con's but I'd imagine someone that does could name a few but they're probably the opposite of the M6 Con's.

One thing I will say about the A8 and I equate it to the auto's I've had before. Much lower level of interaction with the car. Just plop down in the seat, Put it in gear and push the gas/brake. That's it. Perhaps the paddles can be fun though. This can appeal as a benefit to a lot of people and others say there's much less feeling of being one with the car that you get from the manual.

Yeah it's all personal preference.

I have never had a dealer quote me a *real* price without listing the VIN. Don't be surprised if they are low balling you to get you juiced before hitting you with a higher price. If you do get the deal, can I fly you out to broker a deal for me?

I drove the m6 and they put it all on paper had me talk to the finance girl. I left so I could get my own financing. It ends up saving me another $10 per month or so. Slept on it all night and will definitely swap it for an auto. So I will pay $1260 more even though I wanted to keep it low as possible.
