exhaust and headers advice

Im gonna end up putting borla back on my car I want to go with the Atak and xpipe down the line I want to add headers but borla recommended I wait for the zl1 exhaust with 3 inch and NPP when it comes out next 2 months. Does it make that much difference vs the 2.75 diameter ATAK with NPP? I want to be able to quiet down the headers , down the line I want to do CAM tune and CAI but want to make sure I choose the right exhaust with it... opinions?

All they want you to do is wait on the newest exhaust which will no doubt have the newest higher price to go along with it, their exhaust is already overpriced for these cars and I'm a borla fan. 2.75 even 2.5 would be able to handle the type of horsepower and upgrades you have mentioned with no issue. I ended up having a local shop just order me two atak mufflers and then build be a custom system back to my factory connections up front, parts and labor from them will be cheaper for me than what I was looking at for parts alone from borla, which was axel back system and their x pipe/midpipes, which would of still had to of been pieced together to retain my factory npp valves.

I think the Zl1 tips are larger and would look
Weird on the 1le I think , I loved s type but want louder so plan on going with Atak and x pipe. I don't think manuals have afm so that saves a bit , how are borlas headers vs kooks?

I think the bigger tips looks better! I put the Stainless Works cat-back on my car and love the 4" tips.

I installed the Atak axle backs with the 60606 mid/x pipe combo that deletes the secondary cats on my 1LE. It's incredible sounding!! Every time I do a cold start I giggle a little. It's quite loud, but once the RPMs settle it has a nice deep gurgle at idle. It's definetly made the driving experience much more fun.....now I'm making excuses to go for drives and I take the long way home, lol!!!

How do secondary cat deletes affect the car when you re rebregister with the dmv in 3 years ? I would prefer the louder but I plan to prob let go of the car in 36 months would that complicate registration for new owner ?

Also would anyone prefer short tube headers vs long tubes ? How do headers affect warrant if someotheing happened would you pull them off ?

I'm
Still being advised to wait for the 3inch if I want headers and cam down the line do I not need a on the x pipe since it's a manual ?

If you plan on making 700+, go for the 3"

If not the stock size will make power just fine

I did the Borla S-Types with ARH 1 7/8 headers. Its PLENTY loud as is. I drive around in Stealth mode or sport most of the time. If you plan on going headers I would get the S-Type, ATAK will be stupid loud... If you like the attention go for it, but sometimes it brings the wrong kind of attention.

Here is a couple sound clips of mine.
