Navigation system & Updates
Hello,
Just wanted to inquire about factory updates to the navigation system. In the US do you have to pay for regularly scheduled updates? I went to my local dealer and they told me the option cost 795 CAD and then each update is approx. 180 CAD and that the upgrade costs are not covered by warranty or the dealership. This really surprised me and I wanted to confirm this is in fact accurate. Thanks! |

Yes a major downside for factory NAV systems. Don't think anyone offers free map updates. Another reason to switch to CarPlay/Android Auto.

Correct, not a free thing. You can order it from here and DIY. *tip: if you are looking for a certain area to be added contact the customer service at the bottom. Ask if that area is updated before you buy. If it it not ask them to add it, so if you choose to buy it on the next update you will get what you are looking for and only pay once.

Yep, it's really the only downside to factory nav. It looks like you can do it yourself though.
