Hey y'all,

I've just secured by first "real" job that I'm going to start in January after graduation. I'll be able to save about 10k for a down payment in 4-5 months for my Camaro. I'm really after a 50th, but I'm afraid that I wont have a good down payment saved before they start producing '18s. When do y'all think they will stop offering the 50th for order or sale? I'd ideally want to wait as long as possible to save more money, but I don't want to miss out on the car either. I'd be happier with more around the lines of 15k down on the car. I'm not opposed to flying out to get one, either. I can live without that package if need be for financial reasons (really don't want to pay more than 35-36k for a 2LT with the package), but you know..Might as well attempt to get the one that I want if I'm gonna be working to get it!

Typically mid April to mid May is the model year cut off for ordering.

Good to know. I think around late April I'm going to start shopping them and seeing if my local dealers would be willing to order one (or Becky) and give me a good price on the order. If I can't get a good deal attempting to order one, I'll start searching out of state. Cars in New Orleans are ridiculously overpriced. Thanks!

I would PM Becky....

This year model change was in early June and the cutoff was mid April. Typically its early July with a mid May cut off. If they do the same this year you would be pushing it. Becky may not know the exact time frame, but she will in the next few months....

Awesome, sounds like a good plan for me. Thanks for your help, I appreciate it. I've been working towards this car for a long time, so I'm going to try to do what I can to get the details just right on it.

It's highly likely that Chevrolet will run out of the package components (stripes, badges and so on...) before the end of the model year. Personally I'd be surprised if you see 50's being built after say Feb of next year.

So, off topic but - Zosozeppelin - just thought I'd jump in & say hi after reading your signature re your previous car! I actually still have my Saturn Ion3 Quad Coupe, my 1st new car, an 2005 I bought in '04! Still love it but time for a change ...and I've been drooling over the Camaros for a few years now! I think the thing I'll miss most is the half doors for the back seat - love them!

Good to know. I would hope that they would stay in stock long enough for me to save up a good down payment. Can't use my Toyota for a down payment because my mom wants it back when I'm done with it (bleh). It wouldn't be the end of the world if I didn't get the package, but I sure would be one happy girl!

That's awesome! I loved the laser blue color, too. Mine was black onyx. I miss that car so dang much, you have no idea. Had such personality. I'd still be driving it, but the door seal apparently failed when a big ol' Louisiana thunderstorm came through. Flooded my interior. It was my baby. I named him Toulouse lol. But yes, they brought the Camaro back the year I graduated high school and I've wanted one since they brought it back. I planned on keeping my Ion, but obviously that didn't work out. :(

Thanks! Finally done with school. Wrapped up one degree and went straight into nursing school after finishing it. I'm ready to work! And don't tempt me...Pretty sure my boyfriend would murder me if I brought home another Saturn, hahaha. I really want one of the first generation SC coupes with the flipping lights.
