My new black SS has tons of little raised bumbs.

My new Black Camaro SS has tons of little hard bumps under the clear coat. And a bunch of scratches in the paint that i didnt notice when i bought it. Dealer wants me to bring it in for them to look at it. Im not happy. Even if they buff them out buffing strips down the clear coat and may thin the paint which may cause mire issues down the road. Can this issue be fixed with no issues short of repainting the car which im sure they wont go for?. Is this common in black cars? Its crazy i bought the car late in the day and it was dark and overcast and didnt notice this until the next day in the sun. Im bummed! !

Use a clay bar kit on a small area and see if it clears it up.

Yes i washed it after i noticed them to see if it would help. Once the car was clean they where even easier to see. Hard bumps under the clear coat. Hard dark bump in the middle with the clear raised around them like a flat bubble.

The car is under warranty. Don't sweat it, even if it means a total repaint. I worked in manufacturing and it happens. Just push them until you are satisfied and you will have to push them.

If it's under the clear coat that's a problem. The fine scratches are normal from the dealership washing the vehicle. Polishing the scratches out shouldn't be any problem. Is there any way you can get a good picture of the bumps?

I actually think it is going to need to be repainted. Bumps under clear coat means dirt got on it in the factory before it was painted. I hope they fix it the right way.

ditto the clay bar recommendation. With any dark color this will more obviously be required. I quit buying certain colors because it is a wide spread issue especially if you are OCD. Do a small area not the whole car. If it works the clear coat wont be removed and you will find the problem is microscopic contamination which is highly possible. Especially true the longer the car sits on the Dealers lot. If they cleaned the car on the lot over time usually its with water pressure and not dried properly to protect Black Paint.

I have a black car too, hard to keep clean. I was not very impressed with the paint either.

But I do fine you have to rinse with pressure wash first, hand wash with a good car wash soap and then rinse again with a good final dry down with micro fiber towels. Only wash in the shade

My car comes out looking good the.

With a nano ceramic coating, black now can be a color that is just like every other color to take care of.
1. polish the car with an orbital using a finishing polish
2. apply a nano ceramic like pinnacle diamond coating or CquartzUK for about $100
3. Use rinseless to wash the car in 20 min for weekly maintenance

Yes, it's that simple.
