Alarm going off for no reason?

Hey guys, seems like I'm having a bunch of small issues with the car and it's not entirely the fault of the manufacturer, some of them are due to my bad decisions.

My current concern other than curb rashing my wheels last night in a dark street, is that my car thinks it's being a victim of theft. I walked back to my car last night trying to unlock the car via the keyless button and it honked twice but it opened. Then it shows a message saying "Attempted Theft Detected." Now this is the 2nd time something like this has happened, 2 nights ago, my car alarm went off for no apparent reason.

I got an email from onstar for both occasions of "attempted theft"

You guys think there's an electrical problem?

I had the same thing happen on a loaner '16 1SS while it was sitting in my garage one night. I guess it just got lonely. So far, nothing similar on my '17.

I would definitely talk to the dealer about it.

Reset and relearn the remotes. If you're not familiar with it. Take it to the dealer, explain they issue and they will do it no charge under warranty.

LOL. Nice to hear my goal of building an awful reputation is working. I have the front plate on now, and the issue actually started after I installed the front plate

The only way to tell if this is a problem or if someone is actually trying to steal your car is if somone can chime in to tell us the exact circumstance that "attempted theft" msg is triggered.

Tell the judge your car refuses to accept a front plate...
