Center Display/Gauge Cluster Style? 2018 1SS

I have a 2018 1SS I bought used with what I believe is base audio, infotainment, and equipment group although I haven't pulled the window sticker. It has cloth seats, no butt warmers, no HUD, the speakers kinda suck, etc. The center digital screen between the tach and speedo looked just like the WAMS Uplevel Cluster in the link below. Blue with temp and fuel on the edges with whatever you wanted to select for the middle.

https://www.whiteautoandmedia.com/pr...xkkKNd8IkaeJYX

Then I replaced the steering wheel with a new 1LE style (OEM GM); disconnected the battery during install. When I powered it back up the center display is all black/white/red with the 4 gauges up top for oil pressure, temp, fuel, and voltage with digital speedo or mileage or whatever you wanna select below. I don't see any options in the menu to change display styles to what's pictured in the link or on Google images for the WAMS setup. Perusing online this looks like the standard setup on the SS (and all trims?).

I reached out to WAMS and they confirmed my VIN is not on file with them, and advised what I was seeing is a factory cluster for the SS. Not having any luck identifying these options from factory through searching the interwebs. Maybe I'm using the wrong search terms?

I liked the other style and would like to switch back if possible (and economical). Not looking to spend several hundred bucks for a gauge style.

Long term lurker, first time poster. Love the car and all the info here from the community. Any insight is greatly appreciated.

Hey Kickstand, to the forums. The uplevel cluster has an Options menu item on the left hand side of the screen that you can bring up with the arrow buttons and then select with the OK button on the steering wheel, it's the last item.

In that menu, there should be a Display Theme item that you can select similarly, and it allows you to choose from 3 themes:
  • Standard (the default one you're seeing now),
  • Technology (the one you want with the big round center gauge), and
  • Media that focuses on radio channel and soundtrack info (which, subjectively speaking, is pretty useless for the most part).
This old clip shows how to do it, check out the part starting at around the 6:50 mark.

User error, classic. Thanks for setting me straight! I misunderstood the menus as in thinking Display Theme was the next option if I scrolled down instead of switching with the right arrow since that's actually the title. All set.

Whereabouts are you in East TN? I grew up outside Madisonville. Love cruising around in the Smokies.

Happy to help anytime These menus are a bit unintuitive indeed. The design concept was that you select a menu item on the left, and then every screen you bring up may have a "submenu" on the right, but there is no indication of when, or which ones do and which ones don't.

The submenus also vary by trim, for example, my car doesn't have line lock or programmable launch control, but newer SS and ZL1s do. And on top of all that, the visibility of each menu/item is configurable, with some hidden from the factory, a minor usability crime in my opinion

Oh, great, we live in Loudon County, near Lenoir City, very close to Madisonville actually. I love our mountain roads, too, especially the lesser known ones (never even been to the Tail of the Dragon, heh, it's too popular now). Our Camaros thrive on these curvy roads. With no shoulder to speak of on many, I sure don't let myself be distracted by screens or anything else, just focus and enjoy the beast
