Black Bowtie Emblems Availability

RIK- Black Front and Rear Bowtie Emblems

The dealer is having an issue ordering these, they say they are "not available at this time". Claims they havent been for a month now. Anybody have any insight on this?

Long story short- my car already has them but they put the rear one on really crooked (they are a dealer installed item). They told me they wont cut off and re-apply the old one, that they would not want to take the half-ass route. I agree with them, but the waiting game is killing me.

FYI- the dealer is actually great and the service is amazing. I just didnt know if maybe they were ordering the wrong part number or what.

Any info would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

I had a similar issue. They said they could not find the part number. I went to shopchevyparts.com got the part number and then they were able to order it and have it the next day. This was all just last week. Good luck

Jeebers....1st world problems. Cut it off, apply new 3M, put it on straight. This is easy.

(but common sense is a rare thing these days)

So they have to order a whole new badge just for the sticky stuff on the back?? Or do they mean they would break the badge removing it somehow?

The black 3m vhb sticky stuff on the back of the badge is a true pain to get off, took me 45 min of googone, scraping, 3 m remover, heat, etc.

I suspect they dont want to do this.....

I said the same thing. but the dealer insists on doing it correctly with new parts. Im not going to argue with them on it lol. However, if someone here knows the right part number, I could help them out.

This is just one of the few things they are going to do for me based on the inspection list I gave them.

I dunno Glen. They are doing alot harder things than just that lol. I really think its the fact that their parts department is just ordering the wrong part number.

I dunno....I had no problem replacing mine with some new 3M....I didn't have to do any scraping on the badge, but likely because all the residue was left on the car, not the badge..It was a 15 minute job with a little GooGone..

My experience is this actually is something they dont like to do, (i managed techs for years) they would rather order the part.

Availability is a shocker. As I ordered mines through a dealer a couple weeks ago and got them several days later. I guess location is playing a factor here. I would also suggest using a local body shop. I did that with my LPO items (black bow ties & Fender hash mark). My dealer suggested also because they believed the body shop would do much better, but I was only given this option because I ordered LPO items afterwards.

thats interesting that about the availability. I am new to Chevrolet vehicles but its neat the dealer offers this sort of thing but like others have said there are cheaper ways to go sbout it. Are "flowties" sold through the dealer as well?
