Ordering Question

I went to my local dealer to try to place my pre-order for the new Camaro. They took my details, specs and exactly everything I wanted in the car. They called me back and said that they put the car together for me but they weren't able to get a price for it? All they said was to wait, and see when they get an official price for the car? Any suggestions on what I can do? Opinions? Thanks!

Run dont walk from that dealer, they know nothing, if you like to get a car use only Becky its the only way you will know its going to get there and when. IMO.

And name the dealer so people know not to shop there. I have no sympathy for garbage like that!

All the dealer did was say they dont know the price which is truthful if you dont google the price and find it. I dont think the dealer should be listed as i read nothing wrong and i read twice.

Becky gets her information from her dealers computer systems like the rest of the Chevy Dealerships. Why wouldn't the dealer in question have the pricing just like Becky's?

That's why I'm so confused! Even when I went in I gave them all the codes and information the didn't even have or know about yet. I have to find out what's going on because it is really ridiculous that they can't even put a price together at this point in time. I appreciate all the thoughts and opinions! Might have to refer back to Becky sometime if I this doesn't work out! Thanks

When I ordered mine a couple weeks ago, the prices did not appear on the order workbench. The dealer didn't know where to look and was unable to quote an exact price. Other then to say they will sell at invoice and apply any incentives (if any) was about all that I could get. Is it possible that different areas of the country have had this thing roll out at different times? I called several large dealers in Minnesota and have gotten roughly the same response until two weeks ago when the first could finally place an order. It also seems that even though "we have allocations available" is the common response, GM has yet to make them available to the dealers in this area. Most are expecting build dates in December and January here. This has been a learning experience being the first new car I have ordered. I'm willing to give them some time but I seriously considered a fly and drive home road trip using Becky as my supplier!

Willful ignorance is something that I have no patience for. Its their job to know. He did not ask for anything that they should not know.

Here is where i think your off, if the OP was talking to a salesperson then 100% wright, but the way we take it is like this, all dealers have 1 person to place orders its there Job to know when and how much a new car is, run from dealers that dont know, same thing happened to me, my car is coming from MI to AZ, the dealer i ordered from knows whats going on, my local dealer does not have a clue.

Largest dealer here in IL still will not acknowledge pricing. It does not appear in the order screen. Until it does they refuse confirm any pricing links I have sent them via e-mail.

Think that is precisely why a lot of people here are recommending getting the order placed "SRE". This locks in the current pricing previously announced.

That does not really concern me. I will not order until my 2010 is sold, and I get employee pricing.

Chevy sometimes raises pricing more than once or twice in the course of a model year, and as often as not MSRP is not raised. What is raised you may ask? Employee, Supplier and Invoice, the first two of which I tend to call Program Pricing.

SRE protects against MSRP price increases, Program Pricing price increases, and Invoice price increases. I bring this up because I had an order go in as TRE and from the time the order was placed to the time of delivery a non MSRP price increase occurred.
