Hot Rod Magazine Staff Editor drives a 2016 Chevrolet Camaro SS to my job!

When I heard Chevrolet was taking the 6th Gen Camaro on a nationwide tour I knew I had to be there but I realized the closest stop was in Syracuse NY, almost 2 1/2 hours from Buffalo. At GM Powertrain Tonawanda Engine Plant where I work as an Engine Assembly Technician, we were notified this past Monday that Hot Rod Magazine Staff Editor Elana Scherr would be visiting our plant to tour Gen V manufacturing on the morning of Wednesday Oct. 21 & would be arriving in the all new 2016 Chevrolet Camaro.

We were not able to drive the vehicle but were allowed to sit in it & take pictures. Elana & her photographer are obviously traveling in the vehicle so many of their personal items are seen in the photos. This is a Silver Ice Metallic 2SS Camaro with black rally stripes, an automatic transmission & the Kalahari interior.

Elana, who has a background in composites fabrication & motorsports marketing also has a soft spot for Mopar muscle & one off vintage racecars. I had the chance to speak with her & she was surprised I was there seeing as I work 3rd shift & they hadn't arrived until 10am. I told her I went home for a hour & then came back because I knew I couldn't miss this. She is very nice & said she loves everything about the new Camaro.

You took a close up of that small speaker-looking thing on the door. Did you get to ask what its function was?

Great detailed pictures! Thank you for sharing. Looks like a 2ss with npp exhaust auto. Wonder if it had mag control and how you select it.

Edit: relooked and it does have mag control mode under the auto shifter and traction control switch. Good placement in my opinion.

Great shots.

I have two observations.

1-Stripes don't work on this car, yet to see a stripe combo I like.
2-The pedals really should come with some nice metal covers. The plain rubber looks cheap.
