Thumbs down My Cardinal Sin

Seems the car gods are not the forgiving kind.

So I had to go on a Business trip recently and needed a rental car. As no Camaros were available I decided to take a black 2014 Mustang. After all, we all know, we should keep our friends close and our enemies closer.

I drove it for about 20 miles to my first Hotel. The next morning I had a customer meeting and wanted to get going, only to be greeted by an all too familiar clicking sound when i attempted to start the car.

DAMN Mustang!!!!

After some discussion with the rental company they agreed to bring me a replacement car, but could not tell me what it was going to be.

As you can see in the second picture below, they decided to bring me a baby blue Mustang

So, the quintessence of the story is, if you get a mustang, make sure you have a second one on hand in case the first one brakes down (and apparently it will). Hahaha

Those rental cars have a tough life, whether they are Camaro or Mustang. I rented a Camaro in Florida and drove it like I stole it. It had about 2000 miles on it. I thought it over.. and realized that every person who rented it had probably done at least one burn out, and several WOT runs up to at least 70mph.

Why else would you rent one?

No one worries about proper break in procedures on a rental. I wonder if manufacturers keep warranty data on rentals vs one owners?

I do no why people bash mustangs when camaro are just has bad. Wed I got to get my hair cut. I opened the door and closed it. Put the key turned it and the dash lights came on for a instance and turned off. No clicking or any thing. Got my voltage meter out and it was reading 9.1 volts.
Charged the battery for an hour then went to the barber shop and did a little food shopping before heading home. I put charger but on to complete the charge.

Well I'm in the worst state...People's republic of Commieforna

Hey OP, have you pushed the limits on that rental?
Burn outs, etc...etc.

I rented a challenger when I went to Hawaii...pushed that turd to the limits. Had a lot of doing it. It's good to see the competitors strengths and weakness from first hand experience.

Yes I'm sure if you make one modification like a breather oil cap it will fail their emissions testing brand new. I moved to a blue county in VA and they have emissions testing, they gave me so much shit almost failed me for no resonators and my cai. So many priui in my area i neutral rev everytime im near one just to say F U with my car
