Is the new 2015 suburban really a good buy?

Is the new suburban really worth the buy? It weighs more has only 20 more hp so it is just as powerful or less powerful as the 2006 6.0l. It can't tow as much weight than the 6.0L. It does have a better fuel management system. It doesn't have the Air Ride suspension the older LTZs had. It does have more technologies better nav. It doesn't have more room than the older model. It has a maximum of 7 seats rather than the old 9 seat capacity. I mean I really was looking forward to less weight and better fuel economy with more power. But it really fails to deliver. Atleast on paper. The styling is great though! Very luxury and tasteful. What is your take on the car? What was your favorite suburban year?

You'd have to pay me to take a GMT-900 over a K2XX. Or a GMT-800 for that matter.

Vastly better exterior design, vastly better interior, far more technologically advanced powertrain, smoother and quieter ride. And barely anyone went with the 9 passenger option anyways but you can still get it with a 2015.

In its specs the 2015 says it tows less weight than the 6.0l and it also weighs much more than the past suburbans. Which very much struck me to find out. You're right with the power train and interior and much more sound deadening but is the suspension way better than the Air Ride? I thought that was the epitome of the suspension in the suburbans? What makes the new suspension much better? Surely you were struck when you found out it weighed more with less towing capacity?

Magnetic Ride Control >>>> ECAS.

Of course it weighs more. It's a vastly better car. Those improvements aren't feather-light. The GMT-800 model was a good truck but it's downright crude compared to a K2XX.

And if you need to tow, this is a better bet anyways.

Only super well equipped. You can get into a 2015 Suburban in the high-40s which isn't much more than a 2014.

By the way OP, you do realize there is no 2500 model anymore? Pretty sure the 6.0L only came with that model on the GMT-800s which barely anybody bought in the first place.
