Edmunds: 2010 GT500 vs 2010 Hennesey Camaro

Not sure why they are comparing a stock car to a modded car but here ya go.

It says the gt500 put down 511whp

Good read .. I found it interesting that the blower setup on the camaro isn't intercooled. I thought the magnason kits were intercooled .. if not, I may be waiting for whipple or KB to see if they bring out an intercooled product for the camaro ..

Edmunds is stupid.. What matters is winning the race. The Hennesy is .3 seconds faster 0-60 than the GT500.. The GT500 will be spanked every drag race and look silly... If you want refined, go buy a luxury sedan.

idk if they should have done a 3rd party modded car against a ford factory car "built in the same plant" but the results are interesting just the same.

not really! exhaust, pulley, and a tune and it will be on top. both cars are nice no doubt. whats impressses me is the stock suspension of the gt500 handling better than the modded ss.

With a little suspension and throttle tuning the HP550 would be a winner. I don't think I would buy a non-intercooled supercharger though.

It's the same 511rwhp dyno run they are referring to.

And the camaro is 10-15k more and was running some combination of race gas. Run them both on the same fuel or don't quote numbers. You also get a factory warranty with the Ford.

I've been very impressed so far with what Ford has done to the 2010 GT500. Too bad it will be 3 years for a Z28.

It is intercooled. The Magnuson TVS has the intercooler underneath the actual blower itself - very "cool" design. Get it, "cool"!!!

The Hennessey Camaro may be 10-15k more because of the body striping, rims & tires, suspension thats obviously not tuned, and whatever else kicks it up that much. My 2SS/RS was 36K and I will have the same set up as the Hennessey but without the different tires, rims etc for about 48K. I am also getting a 3yr 36k mile warranty on the engine and S/C.

I don't think it was dialed in, if it got the same as stock numbers. I thought I read somewhere in one of their posts that they needed to dial it in yet.
