Plasti-Dip Clear Car Bra
I'm curious if anyone has any experience with using the Plasti-Dip or similar spray on clear rubberized paint as a spray on clear car bra. I understand xpel and 3M and others offer the precut clear protection but does anyone know of any disadvantages of going with one of these spray on/ peel off options?

I've used it behind wheels and on lower parts of the car, it won't look very good as a bra although it says it's clear it's a matte finish but would be OK for temporary use

3m offers a spray-on clear bra product (don't recall the product name). I saw it on one car and it looked OK. Definitely not a substitute for a paint protection film but also not nearly as expensive.
The internet reviews are mixed but some of them might be reviews of earlier versions. 3m has improved the product over time. I would definitely try it on a "test" car or small inconspicuous area before I would put it on a car. |

can you wax the spray-peel stuff? will it stop a rock hitting the car at 80 mph and chipping the paint? Can it be laid evenly on the car that makes it hard to see or notice it's there?

I'm thinking about using the 3M product for the rocker panels and maybe behind the wheel wells.

Thanks for the feedback, I'm planning on plasti-dipping my wife's mini copper later this year, i might tape of the nose of my expedition and dip it clear as a test to see how acceptable it is to me. I've also heard that using the gallons of DYC with the electric sprayer come out better than the rattle cams, which seems logical.

There's a product called AutoFlex Spray Shield and it's pretty much a spray on clear bra and looks really nice after it's sprayed on. Video of it here:
