2027 Trax Activ pickup

So I noticed the design language on pickups is boxy while SUVs are more sleek and sporty lately.

The Trax has been a hit for Chevy mainly because it started out with a low price and the styling is pretty decent for a SUV.

I miss the days of the little S10 when trucks could be small but still have some utility while not cutting into your retirement fund.

So...marketable idea or abomination? I did the same with the Blazer.

Seems like a good idea. The hardest business case for a domestic automaker right now appears to be bringing a car to market and rumour has it Chevy is looking at that. So a variation on a popular suv would be sensible. It's basically the El Camino variant.

Current vehicle design is hideous. It's a better idea for a Traverse front. A low price full-size unibody has a better chance, if it looks okay to suburb dad.

Extended cabs don't deserve a comeback in smaller trucks, crews are basically double cabs as is. I'd by intent want to drive a smaller regular cab b.o.f. with a 6' bed, but I'd be strongly tempted by an 8' tray now. Peak S10 for me is '88-'93, GM has strayed far from anything I'd have hoped for. So yeah a Trax pickup would be an abomination with no shot at earning my money.

I think it is a smart idea. Build a "truck like" SUV for the people who do not want to drive an SUV and would rather not start at $45K to get into a bigger Silverado. LOTS of trucks are being used for basic transportation and not really doing much true "truck" duty. Has to be cheaper than a Colorado.
