Does the stock Amp have to remain installed for sound system upgrade?

I have a 2018 Camaro LT with the non-bose speaker system and my question is, can I keep the factory stereo but replace the factory front door and rear deck speakers and amp, and add a sub without keeping the stock amp? Or would I have to keep the stock amp and use the Sub Thump Harness and line out converter to? Or would you just recommend keeping the stock amp and adding the extra amp and upgraded speakers to it?
