Question for those with OEM wheels, but Mich 4s Tires

I noticed my rims right now don't have much wheel weights on them and i am about to switch to the Mich Pilot Sport 4s and curious if you had to use much more in weights? Also, do you know how they got the old weights off and what did you do to get the old sticky off from them?

Michelins are high quality tires and usually don't take much weight to balance them, any mechanic that changes tires often will have no issue doing it right.

I had mine installed last year before C Fest. The only think is tell them to be careful not to scratch the barrels when removing the weights. They should also be able to remove the glue.

I was concerned when I noticed two of my wheels had no weights at all after mounting the P4S tires, the guy told me they’ll be perfect, he was right ! I’d still say this is an extraordinary exception. The other two I believe have just one section of tape weight on each.
As for removing the old weights, yes, a nylon knife or sharp nylon chisele with something like goof off to help with the adhesive.

One more question. I see three listings for the rear tire. Regular, Audi, and Porsche. Is there a downside or benefit to running the Porsche rear over the regular?

Here is a tip I heard long ago:

Every tire has a mark on it from the factory indicating the "heavy" spot. If you are able to mount the wheel with the "heavy" spot 180deg from the valve stem/tpms sensor you will /always/ require less weight. It makes sense to me, I ask for that when I get new tires, but generally just get a blank stares.

Dont use the stock size for the fronts, you want 295's, not 285's. The 295's in PS4S match the stock tire width...

The 285 is about an inch narrower, and while it's not life or death, I would have gone with the 295 had I remember it at the time..

Interesting...so 295/30/20 instead of 285/30/20. I will look at what the height is but assuming no clearance issues from that perspective?
