ZL1 Badging Removal on Carbon Hood
Anyone here remove the ZL1 badging from the carbon fiber insert in their hood? Is it okay to use a heat gun on that? I have a pair of custom ZL1 matt black emblems I want to replace the chrome ones with. Thanks

I would warm it up with something more like a hairdryer, and use some dental floss in behind the badge. Can you please post a picture of your changeover I don’t like the red on the one and I am thinking of something different as well.

Those come off just like they do off of paint, same method/procedure when I deleted them off my CF insert.

I used fishing line to pop off the letters/number, then used goo gone automotive to get the sticky adhesive off. After the adhesive was off, I took a microfiber towel with soapy water to rinse off the goo gone chemical real good. The next day I took the car to get PPF done on the Carbon Fiber hood insert(as well as other areas), then had a vinyl graphic place make my letters/number in Matte black and Matte red. I chose vinyl because I HATE cleaning around badging. SORRY for some of the sideways pics

If it were me I would just leave it blank... I've always taken mine off the rear but this gives me another idea.

I typically debadge as well. The one on the rear looks a hair crooked and I keep looking at it
