racing stripe peeling?
One of the sections of racing stripe in front of the hood on the grill is starting to peel- there's a corner missing. It's small, but noticeable.
Car is blue metallic. A common thing? Car has been babied, and stored for the last 3.5 months safe and sound. Also, are these stripes easily removed; perhaps by warming? It would look very nice without them. Stripes are the silver ones, not the pearl-white. Suggestions welcome. |

They are vinyl wrap, so super easy to remove. Easier with a heater gun.

Use a hair dryer and pull towards you to remove, not up.
You can DIY install of new stripes. You can buy bulk vinyl or pre-cut stripes. Bulk vinyl the job costs about $50. Pre-cuts run from $250 to $500 for OEM. There are examples in the Photos subforum, in the official stripes thread.

These hideous $540 "Spear" stripes were removed in minutes by simply peeling them off. The car sat for 18 months in the sun and snow at the dealer.

Peeling them off is the easy part, the adhesive residue left over can be a real PITA. Get yourself a bottle of Rapid Tac Rapid Remover, and make this process easy.
This logo was on a garden tractor at the manufacturing facility for about 7 years, and exposed to direct sun, summer heat, freezing Oregon winters and snow. Not only a test of Rapid Remover, but a test of Rapid Tac application fluid as well with a very successful bond that lasted 7 years in some fairly extreme exposure. The removal tool is the Lil Chizler tool for wraps/decals. I think you can pick them both up on Amazon for about $13.
